SBG Global is more than two decades old. It was first formed way back in 1995 and continues to operate out of Costa Rica. One of the most established offshore betting sites, it offers a 30% welcome bonus, competitive odds, and markets, but its focus is primarily on U.S. sports.
There’s also a casino and poker room, and live betting opportunities are available. A mobile version of the site, meanwhile, is ideal for those who like to bet on the move, and the bookmaker is known for accepting big deposits.
Before you sign up for any online sportsbook, you should, first of all, take a look at its reputation. What are other people saying about it? How trustworthy is it? How many years has it been around for?
Next, check out the welcome bonus. All betting sites offer a sign-up bonus, but some are better than others. Some also seem too good to be true, so make sure always to read the terms and conditions first. Check to see if there are any subsequent promotions, too, such as a VIP program.
Then, look out for sports variety and the types of markets offered. The more markets there are, the more gambling opportunities there are.
Other things to look for include how easy the site is to use (layout is key to a good experience), customer service, and payment options.
SBG Global doesn’t offer a vast amount of sports variety. This will instantly put off bettors who prefer niche ones, but those who prefer to focus on the major ones won’t mind one bit.
The likes of the NFL, NBA, and MLB are all here, while the most popular European sports – soccer, tennis, golf, boxing, and auto racing – are here as well.
And that’s it.
Not a huge selection, then, but enough for those who only focus on the major ones anyway. Moreover, such a narrow selection means fewer distractions. Which, for us at least, was a good thing.
Odds-wise, SBG Global offers competitive odds and markets on all their major sports. The margins for baseball, for example, are very thin, although the over/under markets in most sports tend to be a little less value for money. Also, prop bits are a bit thin on the ground.
Overall, though, we have little to complain about where choice is concerned.
Live betting (in-game) is available at SBG Global. However, there is a limit of $500, which we feel is a bit restrictive. However, in-play is what SBG does best, and from what we saw during our time there, pre-game betting is a bit limited.
This might not be entirely true because their sportsbook is a bit messy, and it’s hard to know what is what sometimes. But what we can confirm is that, out of all the sites we’ve reviewed, SBG is one of the best when it comes to in-game gambling.
SBG Global’s casino isn’t one of the most attractive ones we’ve ever seen, but it’s got all the classic games: Slots, progressives, and blackjack are available, as well as numerous other table games and, of course, live dealer action.
The number of games is extensive, and there’s plenty of variety. For example, there are four different versions of Blackjack and two different versions of Craps. There are also four different casino platforms to check out, so there’s lots of fun to be had.
However, one thing to be wary of is the software. SBG Global’s casino runs on a type of software called Amigotechs, which has been criticized in the past by a number of customers for being unfair. During our time using the casino, everything seemed legit and above board, but we obviously can’t vouch for everyone.
Casino bonuses include a 100% welcome match bonus and a 100% reload bonus on your second deposit. There’s also a weekly casino rebate on the table that guarantees you 10% cashback on all your weekly losses (though any Sunday losses are not counted).
Like all good betting sites, SBG has a section dedicated entirely to poker. Their selection of poker games isn’t the most comprehensive, and there is no Hold’Em. However, Three Card Poker and Red Dog are here, as are plenty of Video Poker games.
SBG Global has a dedicated, full racebook that’s separate from its sportsbook. There are separate pages for horse betting rules, as well as a whole page that introduces you to horse betting types. This is useful for beginners.
There’s also a page that keeps you up-to-date with all the latest horse racing news.
Overall, this is a comprehensive racebook that features more than 200 racetracks around the globe.
To kick things off, there’s a 30% match bonus on the table for you when you make your first deposit. You can deposit as much as $1,000, but the only thing we’d say is to contact customer service if you don’t fully understand the terms and conditions (we read them a million times and still didn’t understand them).
Once you’re up and running, you can grab a 30% reload bonus on your second deposit. We think that’s a great deal as we haven’t come across a 30% reload bonus on any other betting site.
That said, the exact sign-up bonus depends on your deposit method. If you deposit Bitcoin, you’ll get a 50% match deposit bonus of up to $500 and a 50% reload deposit bonus.
Other bonus offers at SBG Global include:
For the sake of fairness and balance, we like to see what other customers are saying about the sites we review. SBG Global reviews are a bit of a mixed bag. Some have praise for their odds and markets, but there are disagreements regarding payouts and the site’s reputation:
Yes. Each time you bet $1, you get 1 point.
They vary, and you can see a complete list on the website. From our experience, live betting is capped at $500, but we were able to stake as much as $10,000 on a pre-game bet.
SBG Global has been operating since 1995 and is one of the most established gambling sites available to U.S. bettors. Furthermore, it’s legal in all states. It’s 100% legit, safe, and secure.
Like any gambling site, SBG Global has its pros and cons. It’s not got the biggest selection of markets we’ve ever seen, but it offers competitive markets on all the major U.S. ones. It also has an awesome welcome bonus and a good (if not great) casino and racebook. Overall, we recommend it to U.S. bettors who aren’t looking for anything too fancy.
