When you first visit Powerplay, it is definitely not the most attractive or appealing website. The website’s design feels outdated, the fonts feel way too compact and suffocating, and there are unnecessary pictures of seductive women. The website feels like an amalgamation of what teenagers thought gambling equated to in the 80s.
But the design shouldn’t take away from the services and features Powerplay provides. They pride themselves on their sportsbook, and although they have decent odds, unfortunately, they’re not the best we’ve seen out there. To counteract that point, though, they do provide a plethora of exclusive sports betting offers for their customers.
In this review, we’ll break down all aspects of Powerplay for you.
On Powerplay, you can find any sport you may want. They have odds and markets on a huge selection of sports, which is great. However, once you dive deeper and try to bet more specifically, you’ll find it a bit empty. For example, on baseball, sure, you’ll find the typical over/under odds and the more mainstream bets, but you won’t find homerun hitters or more specific odds like that.
That’s where Powerplay’s downfall comes about. They claim to have a world-class sportsbook, and on the surface, it looks like it could compete with the heavy hitters, but in its infancy, Powerplay still feels very empty.
They have a live betting function which functions just fine, but parts of the website feel very slow to load, and you may encounter problems with live betting when a second can significantly change a bet.
In contrast to the sportsbook, Powerplay’s casino feels very fulfilling right off the bat.
Of course, you won’t find a mouth-watering list of slots like you’ll see on the more established casinos, but you will find a great list of slots here. Not only that, but the selection of slots they provide are supplied by the newest and best game developers. They have great table games as well that are updated and modern. They feel great to play on.
Finally, they have a live dealer service supplied to them by a third party. Typically it would be best to have a casino develop their own live casino, but it’s understandable for a newer casino to defer to a third party to provide a live dealer service.
As you can see in the review above, a customer was feeling upset about Powerplay’s customer support and promotions. Surprisingly, Powerplay directly responded by sending him a bottle of whisky. Quite a unique way of saying sorry, but very honorable by settling it succinctly.
The above picture paints a pretty good picture of Powerplay, which is always comforting for new bettors.
I’m a resident from the U.S., can I play on Powerplay?
Unfortunately, Powerplay is only for Canadians.
How can I contact Powerplay?
You can contact them on live chat between 8 A.M. to 12 A.M. (EST), or via phone or email.
Powerplay is a young sportsbook that can leave bettors a little uncomfortable. This is understandable as the online gambling industry has had its fair share of scam websites. Therefore, it’s always a wise idea to approach new websites with a little caution.
Upon further investigation of Powerplay, though, we can attest that they are trying their best to operate a proper sportsbook and casino. Although they may have disenchanted users, it seems as if they try hard to rectify any mistakes and make the user feel satisfied again. This shows great customer service.
Hopefully, in the future, Powerplay can expand their offering of markets to improve their online betting experience, as it really does feel quite empty. On top of that, their website needs a rebranding and better optimization as it is not very ideal in its current state.
As of now, Powerplay’s greatest asset is its online casino. The selection of slots and table games are great and updated, and their live dealer service is a solid service.
We would recommend keeping an eye on Powerplay. If you’re Canadian and interested in an upcoming sportsbook/casino, Powerplay could be for you.
