Overview of GTBets Sportsbook

GTBets Sportsbook Review 2023: Casino, Poker + More

GTBets sportsbook is still a relatively new name in the U.S. sports betting scene. It was officially launched in 2011 and has developed a strong reputation among recreational sports bettors looking for a sportsbook that offers enticing welcome bonuses.

The Curacao Gaming Control Board fully licenses GTBets, and while it’s available in the U.S., it’s not open to the UK, Canadian or Australian bettors. It’s also not aimed at pro gamblers and will indeed frustrate those who want a site that doesn’t restrict your stakes.

Instead, GTBets Sportsbook focuses on the North American sports betting markets and seeks to provide the casual gambler with a fun, easygoing, and bonus-filled sports betting environment.

Things To Consider Before Signing Up

Before you sign up forany sportsbook, there are a few things you need to take a close look at first:

  • Sign up bonus – For recreational bettors, the welcome bonus is perhaps THE most crucial aspect of any betting site. Usually, this bonus is a match deposit bonus up to X amount of money. Some sites also offer second and third deposit bonuses too.
  • Bonuses and promos – As well as the initial welcome bonus, look out for any subsequent bonuses and promos. These come in the form of free bets, reload bonuses, and game-specific bonuses, and they give bettors the chance to play risk-free bets to help them win more money.
  • User interface – Before you sign up to a site, make sure it’s easy to navigate, loads quickly (essential for live betting), and is essentially clean and neatly organized.
  • Customer service – As much as we don’t want things to wrong when we’re betting on sports, things occasionally go wrong with the site itself. Good customer service ensures you get answers to your questions as soon as possible, thus reducing any unnecessary stress.
  • Sports variety – Whatever sports you prefer to bet on, make sure a sportsbook offers them before you commit.
  • Payment options – Each betting site offers different payment methods. Check to see if your preferred payment methods are available.
  • Online casino – All the best sites offer a casino alongside their sportsbook, but take a look to see what kind of bonuses and games they’re offering, as well as what the user interface is like.

GTBets Sportsbook Broken Down: What’s It Got?

Sports Variety

When it comes to the amount of sports GTBets, offer the site fares averagely. Why? Because while they cover the biggest sports, such as soccer and American football, they don’t offer too much else.

Here is a rundown of the sports they offer:

  • Basketball
  • Hockey
  • Baseball
  • American Football
  • College Football
  • Tennis
  • Rugby
  • Aussie Rules
  • Table Tennis
  • Volleyball
  • Cricket
  • Handball
  • eSports
  • Fantasy Sports
  • Soccer

GTBets also offer politics, but niche sports such as cycling, darts, motorsports, and even boxing are missing. Compared to rival sites like Bovada and MyBookie, who offer a much more comprehensive selection of sports, sports variety at GTBets is decidedly average. I was definitely surprised to see boxing absent from the list.

That said, for the available sports, the site offers a decent amount of lines and futures. Not just that, but GTBets also covers a variety of leagues. For example, in basketball, they cover the NBA (of course), but they also offer European markets, too, including the French LNB.

Where soccer is concerned, meanwhile, the site offers markets on all the major leagues (the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A), as well as a huge variety of more niche leagues, including the Russian Premier League, the Swiss Super League, and the Turkey Super Lig.

All in all, then, while GTBets doesn’t have the same kind of sports variety as some rivals, there’s still plenty of sporting action for bettors to get their teeth into.

However, what will disappoint some bettors is that GTBets impose betting limits on most of their markets. The site limits you to $1,000 for most bets, although you can sometimes get away with placing a $5,000 bet on NCAA, NHL, and MLB markets.

Of course, the average recreational bettor will not care about this, but it’s certainly something that professional gamblers need to be aware of.

Live Betting

Live betting is available at GTBets. To access the live markets, simply click on the “Live Now” tab, which sits at the top of the left-hand “LINES” column. This will load up a dropdown menu that lists the current live sports.

However, there are a number of issues with GTBets live betting. For one thing, they don’t offer any information on live games. They don’t list the current score or vital in-play statistics that help you make better, more informed betting decisions.

For example, as well as not displaying the current score in a soccer match, the site also doesn’t tell you how many shots there have been, who’s had the most possession, and so on. In order to get this kind of info, you will need to use a separate site or tool.

Secondly, GTBets actually loads quite slowly compared to rival sites. When you’re in a hurry to place an in-play bet, this is the last thing you need. Why? Because scores and markets change very quickly. By the time the site has fully loaded, and you’ve pressed “confirm the bet,” that particular bet may have been suspended.

Thirdly, GTBets doesn’t offer many lines for its live games. For example, in an in-play tennis match, GTBets typically limits its lines to money lines. This means you can’t bet on things such as assets, games, or points, which goes for major events and minor ones. Most bettors will find this thing very frustrating.

Fourthly, as I mentioned just earlier, the site imposes low betting limits. For most markets, you won’t be able to wager more than $2,000. Of course, this likely won’t affect too many recreational players, but it can be irritating if a high-value in-play opportunity opens up but you can’t make as much money from it as you would prefer.

Fifth, GTBets doesn’t provide any live streams.

Overall, then, GTBet is perhaps not the best site when it comes to live betting action.

eSports

eSports are available at GTBets. To bet on eSports, you just need to click the ‘eSports’ tab in the left-hand column where all the sports are listed. A dropdown menu then appears, and here you will find all the eSports that GTBets currently covers.

The list isn’t extensive and largely centers around CS:GO, Dota, and League of Legends. Markets and lines are limited, too, and you can’t watch live streams.

Casino

The casino section of the site is easy to access. All you have to do is click the “Casino” tab at the top of the home screen.

Unlike most sports betting sites, GTBets’s casino has pretty much the exact same layout. The only difference is the thumbnails for each game, which are plastered down the middle of the screen. Other than that, the layout is neatly organized but as basic as the sportsbook section.

The problem with this layout is that it gives the place a decidedly unprofessional feel. And as we all know, playing online casino games is ALWAYS better when the site in question at least has the vibe of an authentic casino. That isn’t the case here.

It also isn’t helped by the fact that GTBets still work in conjunction with BetSoft, a software provider that is notorious for failing to pay out after a gambler won one of their progressive jackpots. Worse still, there have been claims that some of their games are faulty and don’t work properly.

It’s a real shame that GTBets hasn’t pulled the BetSoft games yet, especially when you consider that most of their rivals, such as Ignition and Bovada, have.

Other than that, there’s actually quite a lot to like about this section of the site, provided that you can deal with the rather basic layout. There are more than 175 games to be enjoyed here, and these include 3D slots, such as Gladiator, Fruit Zen, and Pinocchio; 5-reel slots, including The Ghouls, Monkey Money, and Pharaoh King; 3-reel slots, including Aztec Treasure, Diamond Dreams, and Captain Cash; as well as super slots, including Dodge City, Mad Road, and Top Dog.

But perhaps where the GTBets casino excels is with its huge variety of table games. There are some 34 table games available, with 10 of these made up of 10 different blackjack games. There is also a pair of baccarat games, which is one more than most other online casinos happen.

You will also find a modest amount of specialty games, including Traditional Keno, Instant Keno, and Klub Keno.

Overall, GTBets’s casino is hit and miss. However, it will suit recreational gamblers who just want to have a bit of fun now and then, and who doesn’t need an immersive “Vegas” style experience to have said fun.

Poker

GTBets does okay on the poker front, but unlike most other sportsbooks, it doesn’t have a separate poker section. Instead, you’ll find all of its poker games in the casino section.

And when I say “all of its poker games,” I mean its video poker selection (which make up all of its poker options).

That said, whilst there are no live dealer games at GTBets, I’ve never seen so many video poker games at a betting site before. There is a huge variety here, and although some are average, some are actually of very high quality.

Video poker games include Deuces Wild, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Poker Jack, and Split Way Royal. Here is a full rundown of all the video poker games you can play at this sports betting site:

  • All America
  • Bonus Deuces
  • Bonus Poker
  • BSG Deuces Wild
  • Deuces Wild
  • Deuces Bonus
  • Double Bonus Poker
  • Deuces and Jokers
  • Double Joker
  • Five Draw Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • BSG Jacks Better
  • Joker Poker
  • Jokers Wild
  • Poker Jack
  • Split Way Royal
  • Tens or Better

User Interface

GTBets sports a fundamental (if colorful) layout. Some might argue that the design is a little too basic, but what I appreciated when I created an account was how neatly organized the site is. Everything is clearly laid out, and it’s absolutely impossible to get lost.

All the spots are listed in a column to the left of the screen, and you can jump from the sportsbook to the casino and from the racebook to the banking section (and vice versa) simply by clicking the tabs at the top of the screen.

The only thing that lets the site down a bit is that page loading time is a bit on the slow side.

Deposit Options

GTBets comes up a bit short on this front, as there are only seven possible deposit and withdrawal methods at the time of writing:

  • Bitcoin
  • Bank Wire
  • Quick Cash
  • VISA
  • MasterCard
  • Skrill
  • Neteller

Bitcoin is the fastest withdrawal option, and it doesn’t require any fees. On the other hand, a wire transfer can take 12 days to process and comes with a $40 fee. QuickCash, meanwhile, takes 24 hours to process and comes with an 8% fee.

When it comes to deposits, VISA, MasterCard, BitCoin, Neteller, and Skrill don’t require fees, but the other methods do.

Bonuses and Promotions

GTBets sportsbook is aimed at the recreational bettor, and as such, it has a number of bonuses and promotions up its sleeves. Moreover, their promos and promos are easy to get your hands on, and they come with clear, generous terms and conditions.

Here are the best GTBets offers at the moment:

Sign Up Bonus

One area where this sports betting site excels is with its sign up bonus, which is easily one of the best around right now: New players are entitled to a 100% match deposit bonus up to $500 when they first sign up.

Not just that, but there’s also a 50% match bonus up for grabs when you make your second deposit up to $250. This is a huge value bonus that’s better than the usual free play bonuses you see offered by most other sites.

Reload Bonus

As well as those amazing sign-up bonuses, GTBets also offers an automatic reload bonus to specific players. It ranges between 5% and 30% and generally isn’t offered to winners (those who keep winning, or pros).

Be aware, though, that you won’t be able to take advantage of this bonus if you’ve just cashed out. This is possible because the site doesn’t want folk to game the system.

Favorite Teams Point Discounts

This particular promo is one of the most unique I’ve seen. It works like this: Before either the NBA, NFL, or college basketball and football seasons start, GTBets will ask for your favorite teams. You will then receive the following discounts:

  • You get half a point on your favorite team in the NBA and NFL.
  • You can buy off key numbers, such as 3 and 7, in the NFL.
  • You get a full point off both college football and basketball.

Of course, this promo comes with terms and conditions that you should read before taking part.

100% Casino Rebate

GTBets only offers one casino-specific bonus, and it’s the 100% cash bonus rebate. It’s a pretty good deal that takes into account your wins and losses over the course of 6 days, beginning on Tuesday and ending on Sunday.

I like this rebate offer because there’s no rollover, neither are there any unclear terms and conditions. The cash bonus is yours, and you’re free to do what you want with it.

Refer a Friend

Lots of sportsbooks offer a “Refer a Friend” bonus, and GTBets is no different. All you have to do is send a specific link to your friend via email or message, and they just then need to click on the link and create an account.

Once they’ve created an account, they then have to make the first deposit. GTBets will then match this deposit by 50%. The most you can receive is $400, which we have to say is an excellent deal. The only other condition you need to meet is that you must deposit your account within the previous 3 months.

VIP Program

Like a lot of sportsbooks, GTBets comes with a VIP program. It’s called Game Time Rewards, and it lets you accumulate points each time you place a better. You can then redeem these points later on, either for prizes, sweepstakes, merchandise, or cash bonuses.

What Are Others Saying About GTBets Sportsbook?

For the sake of fairness and transparency, I like to take a look at what other customers are saying about the betting sites I review.

Where GTBets is concerned, the general view is that GTBets is one of the best sportsbooks around for recreational sports bettors who want a fun, hassle-free betting experience.

GTBets FAQ: Your Questions Answered

Yes. This is a safe and legit sports betting site around for almost ten years, which boasts thousands of satisfied customers.

From what I’ve researched, no.

However, where people have concerns is with the fact that the site still works with BetSoft, which has been accused of scamming people in the past.

Moreover, GTBets used to be associated with the VIP Sportsbook, which was also accused of scamming customers.

There is, though, nothing to suggest that the GTBets sportsbook itself has done anything wrong.

GTBets is definitely aimed at the recreational gambler. Therefore, it has low limits compared to other sites, and it probably would either restrict or close your account if it suspected that you are a pro gambler.

Yes. Customer support includes live chat, telephone, and email support.

GTBets Sportsbook: Final Word

GTBets has a lot going for it for the average recreational bettor. It’s a fun, easy-to-use site that comes with some fantastic bonuses and promos, and there are plenty of table and poker games to get stuck into as well.

Betting options are limited in terms of markets and lines, however, and there are superior sportsbooks when it comes to live betting. But if you’re not looking for anything fancy and aren’t interested in placing huge stakes, GTBets is a solid option.
