Bet365 is a family-owned British-based sports betting site that was first established online in 2000. Its headquarters are based in Stoke-on-Trent, the hometown of the Coates family, who own the business. 

When Bet365 first began, it was a bit of a trailblazer among online betting sites. As well as offering the usual sports, such as horse racing and football, Bet365 decided to take things further by offering lines for numerous soccer leagues around the world, as well as more niche sports, such as darts, golf, and even cycling.

The idea was that Bet365 became the first sports betting site available to British bettors that were “live” 24/7. If you couldn’t find a UK market, there’d be something going on somewhere around the world. 

Today, Bet365 remains committed to delivering markets for a variety of worldwide sports. And with more lines offered than most rivals, it’s still the go-to sports betting site for bettors who are prepared to tackle the more “obscure” leagues and competitions around the world.

Bet365 has a comprehensive range of sports you can bet on – easily the most I’ve seen at a British sports betting site. You can scroll down their A-Z list to the left of the screen, and it’s really easy to find your preferred sport(s). 

Bet365’s coverage is competitive with rivals, but it also offers a few sports that are hard to find elsewhere, such as Gaelic Sports and Trotting.

Markets, Lines, and Odds

Markets, lines, and odds are very good for each sport, especially the major ones. Before a game begins, you can click on a sport, and Bet365 will show you all upcoming events in each league they cover. For example, here’s a look at some of the upcoming soccer matches:

The variety is on par with the best sportsbooks in the UK, and you can place bets on leagues from all around the world. Bet365 also offers markets for “obscure” matches that are often not available on most other sportsbooks. This goes for most sports, but especially for tennis and soccer—for instance, Bet365 covers pre-season soccer friendlies from all over the world. Most sportsbooks don’t do this. 

In terms of the lines offered, once again, Bet365’s coverage is exemplary, and most (if not all) bases are covered. If there’s a bet you want, you can probably find it here. Odds-wise, Bet365’s are competitive with rivals before a match begins. As we’ll see in the “live betting” section below, they’re not always the best once a match is underway. 

Live Betting 

Bet365 live betting (in-play) is hit and miss. First, let’s take a look at the positives. Bet365 offers live betting options for a wealth of markets. If there’s a game on, it’s very likely that you can bet on it in-play. They also offer comprehensive lines and keep you updated with the action via a “Match Live” graphic.

Very often, you can even stream the game live (Bet 365 seems to offer better live stream coverage than most other sportsbooks). However, the live stream is nearly always delayed by about 3 seconds, which can frustrate. 

A major plus point is that it only takes 3 seconds for your bet to be processed. Most sportsbooks typically take 5-6 seconds to process a bet. As anyone who’s ever done in-play betting will tell you, such a lengthy delay can cause the odds to change. As a result, your bet won’t be processed, and you will have to accept worse odds if you still want to go ahead with it.

In terms of the negatives, Bet365 update their odds quickly like all the best betting sites. However, their odds aren’t always the best around. Not only that but Bet365 limits what you can bet on as the game goes along.

For example, take a look at the image below. This is an in-play Bhutan soccer match. There have so far been two goals, but Bet365 doesn’t allow you to bet on “under 2.5 goals,” whereas numerous other sportsbooks do. It’s a line that lots of punters will want to take.

Meanwhile, when it comes to soccer corners, Bet365 uses integers, which can make your life a bit harder when assessing what to bet on. These might be small things to some bettors, but they will rankle with others. 

It’s also worth mentioning that Bet365 doesn’t always provide in-play statistics like some sports betting sites do. For example, there are no statistics that show you how many breakpoints have been won and lost, total points, and so on in tennis games. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to poker, too, and poker games here include the likes of 5 Card Stud, Omaha and Texas Hold’Em. eSports

Thanks to the global pandemic, eSports are now huge in the sports betting world. Bet366 actually offers both eSports and virtual sports, and it’s important that you don’t confuse the two. eSports are video games that are played by real human gamers, while virtual sports are 100% computerized and subject to change. 

Virtual sports can be found by scrolling down the left-hand column of A-Z sports, while eSports can be found by clicking the “in-play” tab and scrolling down to the bottom. There is usually something going on at any time of the day (usually soccer matches), and a live stream typically accompanies each game. 

Odds are updated quickly, as is the way with eSports, and Bet365 certainly offers a good amount of lines for both their eSports and virtual sports. User Interface

Getting the user interface right is never easy for a sports betting site because there’s so much that can be thrown at you on the homepage. Bet365 managed to get it absolutely right by adopting a minimal approach with muted colors.

As you can see from the image, there’s absolutely nothing flashy about this sports betting site. Greys dominate the color scheme, and there are no promotions thrown in your face. Instead, you can see at a glance the latest in-play scores and odds. 

The sports are arranged A-Z in a column to the left of the screen, while your banking options are clearly displayed to the top right. Everything is within easy reach, and site load time is very good. If you’re rushing to get a bet on, you won’t be slowed down. 

Of course, like all sportsbooks, getting used to Bet365’s layout will take a bit of time. But because it’s so intuitive, it won’t be long before you know where everything is.
